Topslip is a picturesque locale in the Anamalai Hills. It is about 37 kms from Pollachi. Pollachi is 40 kms from Coimbatore. This small town with open forest with wild life around is an ideal picnic spot. The grassland is thoroughly sheltered with bamboo forest. Top Slip has an elephant farm that stands to be the main tourist attraction of the place.

     Top Slip is a place where teak was introduced during the British Raj. In the colonial days, the harvested timber used to be 'slipped' to the plains from the hills through a narrow canal. Which is how the area got its name, Top Slip.

Location
     Distances from Coimbatore-Pollachi is 40 km/ 1.5 hrs and Pollachi-Top is Slip: 35 km/ 1 hr. Nearest airport/ railhead is Coimbatore (90 km). Twice a day Bus from Pollachi to Top Slip, at 10.30 am and 3 pm. There are two buses a day from Pollachi to the park at 6 am and 3 pm. The bus returns to Pollachi at 8 am and 6 pm.


     Ambuli Illam, at Top Slip, 2 km from the reception centre, is the best place to stay. It has a restaurant. Pollachi has several places to stay. Mineral water and food (standard fare) available at the canteen at Top Slip.
